Recent theatre performances include The Mikado, HMS Pinafore, Viva Mexico, The Gondoliers, Gigi, Oliver, The Merry Widow, West Side Story, Wizard of Oz, Elixir of Love (at Sheffield Crucible for SCO and Buxton Opera House for Present Company), and major works for 2012 include Gloria and Magnificat (Vivaldi), Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day (Handel),Spring from ‘The Four Seasons’ (Vivaldi) and The Pirates of Penzance.  He has conducted many concert works with orchestra including: Little Organ Mass and Te Deum (Haydn); Requem (Faure); Exsultate Jubilate (Mozart); Manificats by Vivaldi,Albinoni and Pergolesi.  Gloria (Vivaldi); Gloria (Poulenc); Come ye sons of Art (Purcell); Coronation Anthems & Messiah (Handel); Mass in C (Beethoven) and 5 Mystical Songs (Vaughan Williams), Scenes from the Bavarian Highlands (Elgar),Hiawatha’s Wedding Feast (Coleridge-Taylor,) Clarinet concerto (Copland).  He recently completed a third CD recording with MusicWork Vocal Ensemble, due for release in October 2012.

He was a songman at Sheffield Cathedral Choir for 6 years. He has toured with them to Holland, France and the USA and has recorded 6 CDs and made two live broadcasts on BBC Radio 3. His interest in music for youth is well known and he has been involved with various Schools’ music festivals and youth concerts in Derbyshire.    In 2001 he helped found the G & S Youth Academy in Chesterfield, providing training in singing, dance and drama to 9 - 18 year olds.  He co-founded the very successful Saturday lunchtime concerts at Chesterfield library (now in their 22nd year) and established a monthly series of concerts at Elder Yard Chapel.  He teaches in Bakewell at St. Anselm’s School and has been involved in the Bakewell Arts Festival as both performer and advisor.  He is organist of St. Martin’s Parish Church, Alfreton and Elder Yard Chapel, Chesterfield.  

In his leisure time Andrew can be found cheering on his beloved Chesterfield Football Club.

Andrew studied music at the University of Reading and won a post-graduate scholarship to study piano accompaniment at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.  On his return to Chesterfield in 1990, he took up a successful and varied career.  He is in great demand as a conductor locally - his current societies and groups include : Chesterfield Gilbert & Sullivan Society, Baslow Choir and MusicWork Vocal Ensemble.  He is official accompanist to Holymoorside Choral Society and Chesterfield Music Festival.  He has been guest conductor with Rotherham Choral Society, Present Company, Matlock Operatic Society, Sheffield City Opera, and Peak Performance.  He recently retired from Cheseterfield Co-opertaive Choral Society, having been accompanist for 7 years and conductor for 13 years.  He has led musical tours to Troyes, Darmstadt, Prague and Dublin.  Andrew performed over 50 concerts in 2011 as either accompanist, conductor or singer.
